Wyatt - Four Months
Stats:
At his four month appointment he was 16lb 3oz and 25 inches long. His head is still 'off the charts' and this time mommy and daddy also got their heads measured just so we can keep track. He also got shots this month and did much better than last time. His cries were still heart breaking but he did calm down a little easier.
Sleep:
Sleep...Wyatt is not a very good sleeper. He does well going down at nighttime, which is around 9pm, but he gets up numerous times each night. And naps, the child DOES not like to nap. He usually will take a 30-45 minute nap in the morning and then in the afternoon he struggles to go down. The boy gets very tired and grumpy but will try his hardest to not fall asleep. I'm always reassuring him that he won't miss out on anything and that I will be here when he wakes. If only reasoning with a four month old was easy! I'm not giving up hope...
Eating:
He is still a very efficient eater, which is great when it's the middle of the night. He still eats every two and a half hours during the day and about every four to five at night. I let him tell me at night when he's hungry but during the day I try to keep it at every two and a half. He still spits up quiet a bit. Some days are worse than others, but the doctors don't seem concerned.
Diapering:
We currently are using Pampers size two diapers, but think that he'll be moving to a size three (we need the height of the diaper) once we're done with what we have. I'm still cloth diapering during the day and using disposables only at night and when we travel. Cloth diapering is going extremely well and I'm very happy we made the decision to just go for it!
Clothes:
He is still wearing 3-6 month clothing, but I'm still putting him in larger pants due to his bulky cloth diapers. The weather has been so unpredictable that some days its in the 80s and the next in the 60s. He doesn't have much summer clothing in 3-6 month sizes, so usually on the warmer days he is just in a onesie.
Social:
This month we had some play dates and mommy and daddy had two weddings, two weekends in a row. Thankfully both weddings weren't far from Grandpa Donovan and Omas house so they watched Wyatt while we attended the weddings. We also had a few play dates but tried to enjoy the last weeks of summer and stay around home since September had us traveling for most of the month.
Highlights:
Mommy started making Wyatt's baby food, getting all the vegetables and fruit from local farmers markets. Wyatt's first foods that were made included: green beans, carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, peaches, pears, and plums.
