Free Paint

I had mentioned in one of my previous posts that I'm most excited about being able to decorate my own home, including paint the walls. And right now if you head on over to Glidden you can get a free quart of paint (scroll to the bottom of the home page). You get to chose the color and they will send you the paint. So hurry on over and pick out some paint for the project you've been waiting to do...

2 Days

The first few days of this week have been stressful, as paperwork STILL needed to be submitted by our mortgage broker, not us! As of right now we're still set to close on Friday, however, I'm still crossing my fingers that it won't change at the last minute.

Now that Sven and I feel confident that the closing is still Friday we decided to go to Sears and order our appliances. We had already picked out the refrigerator we wanted, but were still undecided as to the washer and dryer. Here is what we ended up with:


Now that that has been done it's really starting to become more real that Sven and I are going to be HOMEOWNERS in TWO DAYS!

Fingers Crossed

We're supposed to close on our house this Friday at 9am. Well as of now the appraisal has still not been completed. To say that Sven and I are upset would be an understatement. Our mortgage broker said that if the appraisal does not come in by tomorrow, Monday, we will NOT be having our closing on Friday morning. But the really bad news is that we HAVE to be out of our apartment by the end of next weekend, as there are new tenants ready to move in. Days have been taken off of work, help is scheduled to come with our move and many (not all) appointments have been set up. If our closing does not happen on Friday I don't know what we're going to do. So please keep your fingers crossed that the appraisal comes through tomorrow...

Two Weeks

In two weeks Sven and I will be closing on our house and I'm SO excited. I cannot wait to have our own space, a yard and a driveway (no more parking tickets or smashed in windows!). Another huge plus is that I won't have to move out in a year considering I have moved every year for the past six years. Even though I'm not looking forward to having to pack I have to keep reminding myself that this will be the last time for a long while. Thank goodness! So my plan this weekend while Sven works is to pack. I have lots of stuff to organize, throw away and pack up.

In the meantime I have been surfing the Internet daily to find decorating ideas. I know I haven't even moved yet, but I'm so excited to finally be able to paint the walls. No more mardi gras walls, which is what we're currently living with. I know for sure that I want to paint our living room blue. Specifically this blue...

Benjamin Moore's "Atmospheric"

Then while browsing the Internet I came across the above rug in someone else's family/living room and LOVED it. They said they got it from Overstock. Immediately I went and searched their site but was unable to locate it since they have about 10,000 rugs. The other day I happened to be looking at their rugs again when I found it. I was so excited but nervous because they only had ONE left. I quickly called my sister to ask for her advice and within a matter of minutes I ordered it. That is the only 'decoration' purchase I've made so far and I'm planning to not make anymore until we move. I just couldn't help it, they only had one left and it is going to look great in my blue living room. Can you really blame me??
