Happenings...Or Lack There Of...

There isn't much happening outside of work right now, since I've been working longer hours AND weekends. YUCK. Only a few more weeks until September 15th! While I spend my days at the office, my boys are up in Pennsylvania. Only another week until they're back and I can't wait!!!!

Deals

Today Sven and I met my parents at the North Georgia Premium Outlets for a little bit of shopping. There was nothing in particular that we were looking for, besides a good deal, and to our surprise we found a few.

First stop was Kenneth Cole where we found these mens dress shoes more than 75% off the original price. Can I get a DEAL!While there we hit up a few of their kitchen stores to see if we could find some magnetic hooks to hold our potholders on the refrigerator. While searching through Kitchen Collections Sven spotted a bread box, we have looked everywhere and haven't found one we liked. This one actually works (most of the ones we looked at the door would get stuck) and it was ONLY $12.00, originally $32. STEAL!

We also stopped in the Williams-Sonoma outlet and once again Sven spotted a bargain, a Kitchen Aid hand mixer. It is the one item our kitchen didn't have. Baking is going to be so much better now that I have this beauty! Oh, and it was $60 off the original price!
We did also purchase a few other things that were on sale, just not super sale. Overall we had a great day shopping, I LOVE a good bargain!

Tired

There's not much going on right now, as I've been working 10 + hours each day this week (this schedule will continue through September 15th). I guess that's what happens when you do taxes...ugh! And then when I get home all I want to do is relax and watch...

Weekend Recap

Our weekend started Thursday night with dinner at Taco Mac. Sven and I met about 12 of my coworkers there for dinner and drinks, before we headed back to my office to decorate for promotion day, which was on Friday. As part of the promotion day celebration, the office desks of everyone being promoted gets decorated. We ended up leaving the office around midnight, as we had 65 desks (just in tax) that needed to be decorated. We both had a lot of fun, and it was nice for Sven to finally meet some of my coworkers.

On Friday I went to work and participated in the promotion day festivities, which included breakfast at the office, lunch out and an afternoon celebration at Opera. (The picture below is the inside of Opera) I left the celebration a little early and came back home to hang out with my boys, Sven and Booker. We all relaxed for the rest of the evening by watching the opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympics.

Saturday Sven and I went to Einstein Bagels for breakfast and then headed to the grocery store. The first place we went was Whole Foods. They have an awesome produce section and lots of yummy cheeses, so we only picked up a few things from there. If we would have gotten everything on our list we probably would have spent three times the amount, as it is much more expensive than your typical grocery store. We then headed to Kroger to finish the rest of our food shopping. By the time we got home FOUR hours had passed, and we were both tired from our day of shopping. I think it is safe to say that we should NOT have to go food shopping for at least three weeks. Our frig and pantry are overflowing with food!

Today we took Booker to the park down the road. We worked on his obedience training for a little while and then took him on a 2 mile walk. I think Sven and I are going to just hang around here for the rest of the day since we have LOTS of laundry to do and I want to watch the Olympics!

Hope everyone else had a good weekend!

Booker

Our newest addition, Booker.

He is our 9 month old mut. We believe that he is
American Bulldog/Dalmation.

His favorite sleeping position, how funny?

Sven has been working daily on training him. He has been doing really well with potty training, but still needs to work on his obedience. He has kept us both busy, especially Sven, with our daily walks and park visits. We are both really glad to have him!
