Wyatt - Five Months
Stats:
Wyatt did not have a doctors appointment this month, but I believe he is probably around 17lbs. He has all the cute baby rolls, especially on his thighs, so its safe to say he's healthy.
Sleep:
Ugh, I wish I could say he's doing better in this department, but that would be a lie. I think this month we had our worst night yet and I got up no less than ten times with him. I'm really trying but he just doesn't want to sleep. Whenever I see he's tired I put him directly in his crib. There are some days, far and few between, that he will nap but there just needs to be more because by dinner time he's usually done for the day! He has no issues being put down for his 8 o'clock bedtime, which is great, but the rest of the day is usually a toss up. I've said it before and will continue to say it, we will get this figured out because my baby will sleep!
Eating:
Wyatt has shown a lot of interest in people eating/drinking by always reaching for what they have and mimicking us eat/drink. This month we started him on some rice cereal and then we introduced a lot of the food that I had previously made (green beans, carrots, pears, peaches, plums, sweet potatoes, etc). So far he hasn't turned away anything, which is great. I really think we have a great eater on our hands. He still nurses about six times a day and once during the night (even though he gets up more than once).
Diapering:
We are cloth diapering and loving it. He is still wearing disposables, Pampers size three, at night and when we travel. The cloth diapers are becoming less bulky on him, since he's a growing boy!
Clothes:
He is wearing all 6 month clothing. It has been a little difficult since most of his 6 month clothing is for cooler weather, and this month we spent almost two weeks down south where the temperatures were still in the 80s.
Social:
We spent almost two weeks away between North Carolina and Georgia. Wyatt got to visit his Gamma and Gampas house for the first time. He was a very good traveler for as much time as we spent in the car.
Highlights & Milestones:
Wyatt is really mastering rolling over and grabbing on to/holding objects. He has become very aware of what his mommy and daddy are doing and has even started to somewhat recognize his name. He is a pretty happy baby (when he's not tired) and loves to 'talk'. He is also a drooling machine and loves to put everything into his mouth (what baby doesn't at this age). We have also started to practice sitting up. The doctor said it might be a little more difficult for him due to his larger noggin, but we're working on it.
